Buttermilk Biscuits

Buttermilk biscuits on serving tray

These are easy biscuits to make when you want to use up buttermilk. I will add a tag to the site for buttermilk recipes to make it easy to search for them because if you’re buying buttermilk for a recipe, you might as well set up your meal plan for that week to use it up before it goes bad.

I’ve left out the cream of tartar when I couldn’t find it; you can substitute 1/4 teaspoon baking soda instead.
Dry ingredients with wet ingredients in the center
Buttermilk Biscuits
2 C flour
1 T baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 t cream of tartar
1/2 C butter
3/4 C buttermilk
Preheat oven to 450. Mix the dry ingredients then cut in the butter until all of the pieces are the same size. Stir in the buttermilk and the dough will pull together.

Sprinkle some flour on your counter and make a ball with the dough, then roll it out about 1/2” thick. Cut biscuits and place on a sprayed parchment-covered baking sheet. Bake 10 minutes.
